Training course on HIV/AIDS begins in Madaripur

MADARIPUR, Aug 24: A five-day Pear Educator training course on HIV/AIDS began at the Madaripur unit office of Bangladesh Medical Association in the district Friday.

Nonggar, a non-government organisation, with the assistance of Health and Family Planning Department, Save the Children and Ad-Din jointly organised the training course, which will continue until August 26.

The training course was formally inaugurated by local Youth Development Department Deputy Director Md Nasir Uddin as the chief guest.

Chaired by BMA Madaripur unit president and Rajoir Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr Golam Sarwar, Madaripur Press Club General Secretary Yaqub Khan Shishir, social worker Shahiduzzaman Suruj, Ad-Din Divisional Coordinator Ashiqur Rahman spoke on the occasion.

Speakers said this training course would improve trainee's healthcare and wide positive awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as sex education.
