Speakers at a training workshop on "Disaster Risk Reduction and Early Warning" Monday emphasised on modernisation of early warning dissemination system and strengthening information service on disaster management, said a press release.
The workshop was jointly organised by National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO) and Disaster Management Bureau (DMB) with the assistance of Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) under the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management in the city. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, director general of NIMCO, inaugurated the workshop. The inaugural session was also addressed by the DMB Director Abu Sadeque and the NIMCO Director RafiquI Islam Sarker, while the session was moderated by the CDMP Advocacy Expert S M Morshed.
In his speech in the working session, KH Masud Siddiqui, director general of the DMB, emphasised on the strengthening of institutional arrangement for effective disaster management.
