A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on Awami League (AL) Advisery Council member and former minister Amir Hossain Amu, his daughter Sumaiya Hossain, Amu's APS Fakhrul Majid Mahmud Kiran, and Kiran's wife Rafeza Majid.
Judge Md Zakir Hossain of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court passed the order on Monday in response to a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC Deputy Director Rezaul Karim filed the petition, seeking the ban to facilitate an inquiry against them.
According to the petition, allegations have been raised against Amu of receiving bribes in recruitment processes, engaging in tender manipulation, and embezzling funds from the government development projects such as TR (Test relief) and Kabikha (food for work).
