Tree fair begins in Rajbari

RAJBARI, July 16 (UNB): An eight-day Tree Fair began on the premises of Azadi Maidan in the district town Sunday.
About 12 stalls are taking part in the fair, jointly organised by District Administration, Agricultural Extension Department and District Forest Department.
Deputy Commissioner Touhida Bulbul inaugurated the fair as the chief guest and called upon to all to stop cutting trees, star planting saplings and to take care of those for preserving the environment.
Later, a colourful rally was brought out in the town chanting various slogans to create mass awareness in this regard.
Besides, a discussion was held at the fair, which was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pradip Ranjan Chakrabarti. The fair will continue until 22 July.
