Twenty killed in separate incidents

Twenty persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Sirajganj, a man was killed and another injured in a road accident at Railway Yard area in the district town Saturday noon.
In Chittagong, five people were killed and six injured in two road accidents in Sitakunda Upazila Saturday.
In Bagerhat, three fish traders were killed and four others injured when a pickup-van overturned on a bridge at Mollahat on the Bagerhat-Maowa Highway Saturday morning.
In Pirojpur, Anisur Rahman a village police was killed by local terrorists at Seotibaria village in Zianagar Upazila.
In Noakhali, terrorists abducted boatman Jamal of Naler Char in Hatiya Upazila after quarrelling with him over the boat fare.
In Benapole, college student Nazmul Islam was hacked to death by unknown assailants at Gogar Amlai village.
In Pabna, a woman was electrocuted at Betowan village in Bhangura Upazila Friday morning.
In Sherpur, Abdus Salam of Gozakua village in Nalitabari Upazila died from electrocution when he was repairing an electric line in his house.
In Sylhet, a teenage girl was slaughtered by miscreants at Garkhaor village in Kaniaghat Upazila.
In Sherpur, a young man was killed by snakebite at Doripara village in Sadar Upazila.
In another incident, the floating body of a seven-day-old unidentified boy was recovered from a pond at Merurchar in Bakshiganj.
In Bagerhat, a boy was killed in a crocodile attack in the Sundarbans in Sharankhola range.
In Laxmipur, a 2-year-old boy drowned in a pond near their house at Monoharpur village in Sadar Upazila Friday. The dead boy was identified as Hridoy, son of Nur Alam of the village.
Family sources said Hridoy went missing in the morning and later his floating body was found in the pond at noon. The news of his tragic death cast a pall of gloom over the area.
