Two car lifters held, stolen car recovered

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Monday arrested two car lifters along with a stolen private car from Mohammadpur in the city, RAB sources said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-10 unit raided the area and arrested two members of a car lifters gang-Billal, 35, and Abdul Jabbar, 62- at about 11:00am.
The elite force personnel also recovered a stolen car from their possession, which was plying on the road with a fake number plate.
An officer of RAB-10 told the FE that the arrested persons were members of an organised gang, which was engaged in car hijacking from various parts of the capital.
"We're conducting raids in various city spots to nab the rest of the gang members," he said.
