Two college students killed in road accident

CHITTAGONG, June 13: Two college students were killed in a road accident in the port city's Colonel Haat area under Akbar Shah police station this morning.

In an instant protest against the killing of the students, local people and students put up barricade on the road, holding up traffic for hours.

The deceased were identified as Shamim and Waheed, students of Mostafa Hakim Degree College.

Officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah police station Sandeep Kumar Das said the accident took place around 10:00 am when a speeding truck ran them over while they were crossing the road.

Doctors declared them dead after they were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
