Two crushed under train in Gazipur

Two people, including a girl, were crushed under the wheels of a running train near Joydebpur Railway Station in Gazipur city on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as Motaleb, 70, a resident of Proholadpur village in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur, and Hawa, 12, a resident of Delbharda village in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district. Sub-inspector of Joydebpur Railway Police Dadan Miah said the duo was run over by a Dhaka-bound train ‘Jamuna Express’ near Joydebpur Railway Station and died on the spot while they were crossing the rail tracks at about 4:30am. Later, the railway police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
