Two DU deans resign

The dean of Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University (DU), Professor Nisar Hossain, and the dean of Faculty of Arts, Dr. Abdul Bashir, resigned on Monday.

"I was ready to resign. I did not want to go against the students," Dr. Bashir said.

Professor Hossain said he had no opportunity to appeal against the students' demand for his resignation.

DU Pro-Vice-chancellor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar said the resignations would be effective after the appointment of the new VC.
