The Dhaka education board has served show-cause notices on two educational institutions asking them to explain why their registrations would not be cancelled for their involvement in irregularities during college admission.
These errant academic institutions are Milesium College, Uttara and Satirpara K.K. Institution School & College, Narsingdi.
The notices say the board has found the two institutions involved in irregularities in sending admission SMS, on behalf of intending students, keeping their institutions in the first choice, without taking consent from the students.
The show-cause notices asked principals of the educational institutions to reply in writing within three days from June 15, 2015.
In the notices, the education broad hinted at stern punitive measures including cancellation of their academic registration, annulment of MPO (monthly payment order) facilities and action against the teachers involved in the admission irregularities.
The secondary level schooling institutions across the country have started the process of student enrolment since June 6 for the academic session of 2015-2016 simultaneously.
The ministry of education recently asked the country's educational institutions to complete the application process for college admission through SMS and online by June 18, 2015.
