Journalists, including two from the Financial Express-- Jasim Uddin Haroon, special correspondent, and Yasir Wardard, staff reporter-- posing with HBRI Media Award at a function in the city on Tuesday Two journalists of the Financial Express (FE) have won media award, sponsored by Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI).
The journalists -- Jasim Uddin Haroon, special correspondent, and Yasir Wardard, staff reporter, received the award in the print category.
State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed handed over the awards.
Member of Parliament Kazim Uddin Ahmed and Secretary at MoHPW Md. Shahid Ullah Khandaker attended the programme as the special guests.
Md. Ashraful Alam, Director General at HBRI, presided over the function held at its Darussalam office.
The award-giving ceremony was also attended by film artistes Naim and Shabnaj and award jury members.
The competition involving works of environment-friendly brick and building materials was invited in 2018 but the process of reviewing the entries to the competition got delayed mainly due to the Covid-19 related public health measures and repeated lockdowns.
