Two held with 400 grams of gold at Dhaka airport

The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested two people and recovered three gold bars and gold ornaments weighing 400 grams at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Saturday morning, reports UNB.

Eighty-three cartons of foreign cigarettes and 100 pieces of fabrics were also seized from their possession.

The arrestees were identified as Omar Faruk,48, and Abul Basar,50, both residents of Munshiganj district.

Tanjina Akter, Assistant Superintendent of APBn, said the duo landed at the airport from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight 'BG 087' from Kuala Lumpur at about 6:30 am.
