Two killed in city road accidents

Two persons including a girl student of a madrasa were killed in two separate road accidents in the capital on Thursday.

A rickshawpuller was killed in a road accident on Khilgaon Flyover in the city in the morning.

According to Sabujbagh Police Station, the incident happened around 7:00am when a speeding truck hit the rickshawpuller on the flyover and left him seriously injured.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with critical injuries where the attending doctor declared him dead soon after his arrival at the hospital.

In another incident, a teenage girl was killed in a road accident in the Jatrabari area in the capital on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Mosammat Mithila Akter Mim (16).

According to Jatrabari Police Station, the incident happened around 1:00pm when Mim fell (sitting back on the bike) from a running motorcycle near Saddam Market, Jatrabari in the city.

At that time the girl was run over by a bus of Dhaka-Narayanganj route.

She was rushed to DMCH where the attending doctor declared her death around 2:00pm.
