Two killed in separate incidents

SYLHET, July 8 (UNB): Two people were killed in separate incidents in the city Saturday.
Sources said, an electrician was electrocuted at Akhalia Tapaban residential area in the morning.
Witnesses said Rubel Mia (20), of Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali, was critically injured when he came in contact with a live electric wire at about 11:00 pm while repairing an electric line.
He was rushed to the local hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
In another incident a day labourer was killed when he fell down from the rooftop of an under construction building in the city's Litchi Bagan area in the morning.
Witnesses said while working Abdul Hakim Babul (20), hailed from Chapainawab-ganj district, died on the spot soon after he slipped and fell down from the 6th floor of the building.
Later, the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy. Separate cases were filed in this connection.
Another report from Pirojpur adds: A day labourer was killed and two others were injured as a tree fell on them at Miagram village under Nazirpur Upazila Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman (55), of village Satkania and the injured are Sirajul Islam and Bijoy Biswas of Hoglabunia village in the same upazila.
Police and local sources said timber trader Mahbub Mollah and Ruhul Mridha of Satkania village engaged the labourers to cut a tree, which at one stage suddenly fell on them leaving Abdur Rahman dead on the spot.
The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex.
