Two modern public toilets open in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Mar 29: Unavailability of public toilets is one of the most pressing issues of the country and the existing ones are mostly unusable as well.
In order to address the issues, Chittagong City Corporation in association with WaterAid Bangladesh and Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) opened two newly constructed modern public toilets at Laldighir Par and KC De Road in Chittagong city on Wednesday.
Funded by the Kimberly-Clark Foundation, the modern public toilets were constructed with facilities such as disable-friendly spaces, separate chamber for males and females, locker room, hand washing area, shower and safe drinking water facility, 24x7 electricity, CCTV camera availability, professional cleaners and female caretakers. The toilets were inaugurated by the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation AJM Nasir Uddin.
Chittagong WASA Managing Director Engineer AKM Fazlullah, ward councillor Jaharlal Hazari, Chief Town Planner of Chittagong Development Authority Engineer Shahinul Islam Khan, Executive Director of DSK Dr Dibalok Singha and Country Director of WaterAid Bangladesh Dr Md Khairul Islam were also present.
