Two more children die with measles symptoms

Two more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until 8:00 am on Thursday, according to the health authorities.

With the latest daily tally, the total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms rose to 805 since March 15 last.

Of the total fatalities, 95 were confirmed as measles cases, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its daily bulletin.

Meanwhile, as many as 848 suspected and 166 confirmed measles infections were recorded in the past 24 hours.

The total suspected measles infections rose to 121,200 and confirmed measles infections reached 15,007.

In response to a measles outbreak rapidly spreading across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already vaccinated over 18.48 million children since April.
