Two sent to gallows for murder

LAXMIPUR, July 24 (UNB): Two people have been awarded death sentence by the Additional District and Sessions Judge in the sensational Khokon murder case in the district.
The convicts are Nurul Amin, son of Mansur Ahmed of Tumchar village and Abul Kashem, son of Abdul Mannan of Abirnagar village under Sadar Upazila. According to the prosecution, the convicts strangled baby taxi driver Khokon and took away his vehicle at village Madna under Sadar Upazila on October 19, 1998.
After examining the records and witnesses, Additional District and Sessions Judge AKM Zahrul Alam found the two guilty and handed down the verdict Sunday.
