UGC, UK join hands to provide e-journal access

The University Grants Commission (UGC) and UK-based Emerald Publishing (EP) signed an agreement on Tuesday to provide e-journal access to 55 universities nationwide.

Secretary of the UGC, Ferdous Zaman and Business Manager of the EP, Nirjhar Mukherjee signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. UGC member Prof Md. Sajjad Hossain presided over the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, Emerald would facilitate the use of e-journals in business education and research.

Prof Sajjad said 55 universities in the country would have easy access to the standard e-journals of the EP.

He expressed hope that the access would be an opportunity for quality improvement and knowledge sharing in business education and engineering.
