UIU holds 2nd Undergraduate Research Symposium

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan handing over a cheque to the winners of the Symposium.

The School of Business and Economics of United International University (UIU) on Monday organised the award-giving ceremony of the 2nd nationwide inter-university research competition, said a statement.

The competition, titled "Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) 2024", was held at 10:00 AM at UIU campus in the capital.

Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, vice chancellor, University of Dhaka, was present as the chief guest. Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, executive director of UIU Institute for Advanced Research and chairman, Power Grid Bangladesh, was present as the special guest.

Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, vice chancellor of UIU, presided over the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Mohd. H. R. Joarder, SoBE, UIU, and convenor, URS-2024, delivered the welcome address, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Musa, dean of SoBE, UIU, delivered the vote of thanks.

Over hundreds of students from different private and public universities participated in three different domains in the competition.

Ramisa Rutbata Hossain Avantika and Rajin Al-Tanjim Bhuiyan from UIU became the Champion in the first domain, while the Champion from domain two was Muhtasim Ahamed Chowdhury of UIU.

Faiyaz Bin Zulfiqar and Samiha Tasnim Promi from UIU, became the first runner up in domain one, while the team of Tawsif Abrar Faiyaz, Nur Afrin Chowdhury Ananna and Maisha Jahin from NSU became the first runner up in domain two.

The team of Asia Bagum, Maruf Hasan Arif, Mesbah Amin and Maksudur Rahman from UIU became the second runner up from domain one, while Tarif Hassan, Rafia Tabassum Sara and Ayman Ilias Choudhury, of IBA, DU became the second runner up.
