UK-based Muslim Charity begins relief distribution

RANGPUR, Aug 23 (BSS)- The UK-based charitable organisations, Muslim Aid and Save The Children, with the help of Joint Forces today launched a massive relief distribution and medicare service programme for the worst flood-hit people of Chilmari, Roumari and Rajibpur upazilas in Kurigram district.
Under the emergency relief programme, the organisations will distribute huge quantities of relief goods including rice, potato pulse, salt and life saving medicines among the flood affected people of these three upazilas over the next two days, concerned officials said.
They provided free medical treatments with medicines and distributed relief goods including 10 kg rice, three kg potato, one kg salt and one kg pulse for each of the 1,000 flood-hit families at Chilmari Degree College ground today.
Their free medicare with distribution of relief goods will continue at Sobujbag Senior Madrasa ground in Rajibpur tomorrow and Roumari Degree College ground on the day after, the officials said.
