UNICEF reaffirms continued support

Edouard Beigbeder assumed his duties as the new UNICEF Representative in Bangladesh Wednesday, reports UNB.
As a development and emergency specialist, he has over 20 years of experience of working to further children's and women's rights around the world.
As the new UNICEF Representative, Beigbeder, presented his credentials to Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at his office while at the same time re-affirming UNICEF's continued support to the government of Bangladesh, so that every child reaches their full potential.
Prior to his arrival in Bangladesh, Beigbeder was Unicef Representative in Haiti from June 2012 to November 2014 where he was responsible for Unicef's strategic direction in the country.
Before that, Beigbeder was responsible for the management of Unicef's 13 field offices in India from 2009 to 2012. Following the tsunami in 2004, he coordinated and implemented Unicef's programmes as Chief of Field Office in Aceh and Nias, Indonesia.
