UP chairman and four of a family killed in road crash

COMILLA, Dec 14 (UNB): Four members of a family and a UP chairman were killed and two others injured as a bus crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Rajnagar under Muradnagar Upazila Sunday.
Police said a Chittagong-bound bus from Ramchandrapur rammed an auto-rickshaw, coming from the opposite direction, near Teghoria bridge at about 8:30 am.
Auto-rickshaw passengers Makbul Hossain (66), chairman of Kamalla union parishad, and Kanduri Begum (80), wife of Malu Miah of Pipulia Kanda village in the upazila, died on the spot.
The accident also left Tazul Islam (38), son of Kanduri Begum, his sister Momtaz Begum (45), sons Samiullah (6) and Rabiullah (4) and daughter Sumaiya seriously injured.
Of them, Samiullah, Rabiullah and Sumaiya died on way to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
