UP member shot dead in Ctg

A union Parishad (UP) member was shot to death by miscreants at Nangalmora in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong early Monday. The dead is Anwar Hossain Jasim, 38, member of Ward No 7 of Nawazishpur Union Parishad under Raozan upazila of the district. The victim’s brother, Mohiudin, said some friends of Jasim called him out of his residence on Sunday night and since then he had remained traceless. Officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station Mohammad Ismail said miscreants shot Jasim on the playground of Nangalmora High School around 4:30am, leaving him injured critically. The injured was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the doctor declared him dead. On information, victim’s family members rushed to the CMCH and identified Jasim, according to a news agency.
