UP member’s son ‘violates’ girl in Jashore

JASHORE, Oct 05 (UNB): A teenage girl has allegedly been raped by the son of a union parishad member at Chalishia union in Abhaynagar upazila of the distrct .

The accused was identified as Sabbir Ahmed (20), son of Md Ali Begh alias Sona, a member of Chalishia union parishad.

Locals said Sabbir made the girl, a class-VII student, fall in love trap nearly a year ago.

On Thursday, he took the girl to his cousin's house at Chalishia village with the help of his two friends, made her have food laced with sedatives. As she fell unconscious, he violated her.

The victim's father filed a case with Abhaynagar thana in this connection.
