UP secy arrested for misappropriating VGF rice in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Oct 10 (UNB): A union parishad (UP) secretary was arrested for his involvement in misappropriation of rice allocated under VGF programme from the storeroom of Tilna union parishad in Sapahar Upazila Wednesday.
Sources said local people caught red handed three guards of the union parishad while they were stealing six sacks of VGF rice and loading it in a van at night. But the guards later tactfully managed to escape.
Later, UP secretary Mahbubul Alam was arrested for his involvement in the incident.
A case was filed against Mahbubul Alam and three guards-Siddique, Jahidul and Syed.
