Dhaka University (DU) teachers, along with those of 39 other public universities, continued all-out strike and sit-in programme for the ninth consecutive day on Tuesday, demanding cancelation of their inclusion in the universal pension scheme 'Prottoy'.

The teachers started their all-out work abstention on July 1. As a result, all classes and examinations are suspended. Besides, most of the rooms in the Register Building are locked. People, who are coming to take various services from there, are going back. Many ex-students, who will go abroad or have job exams, are suffering.

DUTA President and Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association Secretary General Professor Dr Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan said they would continue the protest.
