Vested group spreads false info against RU admn, authority says

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Mar 01: The Rajshahi University (RU) authorities said that a group has been spreading false information through social network media facebook regarding evening course and fees hike at the campus. For this reason, the general students staged demonstration and rampaged in the campus. As a result, the university authority was forced to declare indefinite closure on February 2.

A vested group published different bogus information against the university administration and also instigated the general students to do continuous demonstration.

Prof. Elias Hossain, administrator of RU public relation office signed a press release said these today.

The authority cautioned these users to abstain from any kind of conspiracy against university in the next time. Otherwise authority would take necessary action against them.

RU authority expressed sorrow for the incident of attack on general students over the violence.

The press release also said, the university family was shocked over the whole incident that took place on Feb 2. To resume the congenial atmosphere for education, university administration was trying to settle the matter with the students while top officials discussed with demonstrating students several times.
