Veteran journo Ziaul Haque no more

Ziaul Haque, a veteran journalist, died of old-age complications at a private hospital in the capital on Monday. He was 83.
Ziaul Haque, a senior member of Jatiya Press Club, is survived by a son, relatives, colleagues and a host of admirers and well-wishers.
He was laid to rest at Kalshi graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza at Journalists Residential Area Mosque in Mirpur after Esha prayers on Monday night.
Ziaul Haque last worked at the Dainik Ittefaq as a Senior Assiatant Editor. A distinguished trade union leader and sports organiser, late Ziaul Haque also worked in a number of national dailies, including now defunct Purbodesh.
Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin, MP, and General Secretary Shyamal Dutta expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ziaul Haque.
In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
