Victim support centre for women soon

Police and 10 non-government organisations (NGOs) will jointly set up a model victim support (MVS) centre for providing legal assistance to women oppressed and violated, reports UNB.
The centre is being set up at Tejgaon thana in the city under the Police Reforms Programme (PRP).
A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between the Police and 10 NGOs at the Police Staff College Thursday, said a press release.
Additional IGP and PRP National Project Director Nabo Bikram Kishore Tripura and Hamida Hossain of Ain-o-Salish Kendra were present at the signing of MoA. PRP programme manager Hubert Stabber Hoper also spoke at the function.
