View-exchange meeting on puja held

BARISAL, Oct 8 (BSS): Commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Khan Sayeed Hasan has said here today that the strict security measures would be taken to ensure peaceful celebrations of puja in the district.
He also said policemen will be posted in and around all the puja mandaps.
The commissioner was addressing a view-exchange meeting with members of the puja committee of the district on the premises of the Kotwali thana as the chief guest.
Among others, District Puja Committee president Rakhal Chandra Dey, general secretary Manik Lal Mukharjee, OC Rafiqul Islam, Amal Krishna Sen and Kangsa Ghose spoke.
The chief guest also advised the puja committee to remain vigil during the festival period so that the criminals do not get any chance for doing any misdeeds anywhere in the district.
A total of 401 puja mandaps are being erected in 10 upazilas of this district this year.
