Nationwide vitamin A-Plus campaign will begin on October 04 and will end on October 17 with the aim to administer vitamin A capsules to 22 million children aged between six to 59 months.
The campaign was not held during its regular June-July schedule due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The officials of the Institute of Public Health (IPHN) are hopeful of achieving 90 per cent of the target as all parents may not come to camps amid coronavirus fear.
Around 0.24 million volunteers and 50,000 health workers and family welfare assistants will work in 0.12 million centres at district, upazila, city corporations and municipalities from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be no temporary or mobile centres like bus terminals, launch terminals and railway stations number of which is around 20,000.
These were informed Wednesday during a dissemination programme for the media on nationwide vitamin A plus campaign. IPHN Line Director Dr SM Mostafizur Rahman made the welcome speech.
