The country observed the Vitamin A + campaign Saturday to prevent diseases that occur due to vitamin deficiencies mainly night blindness, reports BSS.
More than 22 million children aged six months to five years were fed high-powered Vitamin A capsules.
Health Minister Mohammad Nasim inaugurated the vaccination programme at NIPSOM in the city's Mohakhali area in the morning.
"Night blindness disease has decreased by one percent by increasing the rate of feeding Vitamin A capsules rate upto 98 per cent. So please don't pay heed to rumours. Pay visit to your nearby centers with your kids and feed them Vitamin A capsules in a festive mood", said the minister while inaugurating the programme.
