Water levels in 73 river stations mark rise

Water levels in 73 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 8 stations recorded falls, reports BSS.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at six monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said Friday.
The Teesta at Dalia, the Khowai at Habiganj and Ballah are flowing above their respective danger levels by 23cm, 120cm and 23cm while Someswari at Durgapur, Muhuri at Porsuram and Halda at Narayanhat are flowing above the danger levels by 22 cm, 25 cm and 55 cm.
All major rivers are rising , the bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the 24 hours that ended at 6:00 am Friday.
A total of 170 mm rainfall were recorded in Lorergarh, 145 mm in Panchpukuria, 64 mm in Lama, 50mm in Dewanganj, 78mm in Narayanhat, 110mm in Ramgarh, 103mm in Bandarban, 125mm in Sunamganj, 65mm in Bhairab Bazar, 68mm in Pabna, 128mm in Chittagong, 120mm in Teknaf, 94.5mm in Panchagarh, 75.3mm in Noakhali, 68mm in Moulvibazar, 57.8mm in Patuakhali, 52.5mm in Faridpur, 70mm in Jamalpur and 53mm in Bogra.
