Mercury inched up in Dhaka on Wednesday as the weather remained mostly dry in the capital as elsewhere across the country.

The Met Office recorded maximum temperature in Dhaka at 34 degrees Celsius, which was the country's highest temperature on the day, compared to 33 degrees Celsius in the previous day.

However, no rainfall was recorded anywhere in the country until 6:0pm on Wednesday.

The Met Office forecasted that light fog may occur at places over river basin of the country during midnight to morning today (Thursday).

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.

The sun sets at 5:13pm today (Thursday) in Dhaka and will rise at 6:12am tomorrow (Friday).
