Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours from 06:00 am today (Friday), according to the Met Office.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Severe heat wave may sweep over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Chuadanga.

The highest temperature in the country on Thursday was recorded at 40.8 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga while the lowest temperature at 20.3 degrees in Tetulia.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 39.0 degrees Celsius on Thursday and the lowest was 27.4 degrees.
