Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Sylhet division with hails at isolated places until 06:00 pm today (Tuesday), according to the Met office.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rangpur and Barishal divisions and rest parts of Rajshahi and Khluna divisions and the districts of Mymensingh, Moulvibazar and Rangamati and it may spread.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The highest temperature in the country on Monday was recorded at 40.6.2 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga and Jashore while the lowest temperature 20.6 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 37.8 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 29.3 degrees.
