Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Sylhet division with hails at isolated places until 06:00 pm today (Saturday), according to the Met office.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Heat wave: Very Severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Chuadanga and Pabna and severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Tangail, Bogura, Bagerhat, Jashore and Kushtia. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over rest parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the divisions of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Barishal and the districts of Maulovibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban and it may continue.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist.

The highest temperature in the country on Friday was recorded at 42.7 degrees Celsius inChuadanga while the lowest temperature 20 .6 degrees Celsius in Tentulia of Rangpur.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 28.3 degrees.
