Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Sylhet division and at one or two places over Dhaka, Mensingh, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places until 06:00 pm today (Wednesday), according to the Met office.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Jashore, Chuadanga and Bagerhat. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Barishal divisions and rest part of Khulna division and the districts of Moulvibazar and Chandpur and it may continue.

The highest temperature in the country on Friday was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius in Jashore while the lowest temperature 22 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 38.1 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 25 degrees.
