WHO Rep calls on DU VC

World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Bangladesh Dr Bardan Jung Rana paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter's office on Monday.

During the meeting, the DU VC apprised the WHO representative of a special convocation to be organised by the university authority to confer honorary D.Litt. degree on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (posthumously).

The special convocation is likely to be held sometime between October and December 2022. The VC has already invited WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to attend the special convocation as a convocation speaker.

At the meeting, the DU VC and WHO representative also discussed the possible schedule of the WHO DG. Prof Dr Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, director at Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology, was present.
