BENAPOLE, May 20 (UNB): A woman here on Monday allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with ceiling fan at her house in Lotadighi village.
The deceased was identified as Sharmin Akhter, 20, wife of Aktarul Islam of the village.
Sub-inspector of Benapole port Police Station HM Latif said the family members of the deceased spotted the body which was hanging with a ceiling fan in her bedroom in the morning and informed police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy, he said.
