Raiding miscreants shot and wounded a woman in a broad daylight attack on her home in the capital's Badda area on Friday noon, police said.
Sajeda Begum, 35, wife of furniture-trader Abdur Rob, came under the attack after others of the family had gone out for Juma prayers.
The couple resides in a house on Badda Post Office Lane along with their two sons.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station MA Jalil confirmed the shooting incident, saying that the incident took place at about 12:30pm while the rest of the family members were absent.
"Sajeda was shot in her left leg and the victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment," the OC said about the latest one among a number of shooting incidents in the capital over the last few days.
He said they were carrying out investigation to unveil reasons after detecting the criminals.
The shooting occurred less than 24 hours of a Khilgaon gun attack that left a young man dead and his businessman father wounded.
Talking to reporters at DMCH, the victim's husband said he and their two sons were at the mosque to perform juma prayers when the attack was launched on his home.
