Work to build smart Bangladesh

Palak tells new entrepreneurs

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday urged new entrepreneurs and start-ups to work for building an innovative and smart country instead of only making profit.

He said the young generation should give priority on doing something which has positive impact on environment and economy.

In a video message, the state minister came up with the assertion while inaugurating 'Sankalp Summit 2023' at a city hotel.

Palak said inclusive society and country will consequently help build an innovative and smart Bangladesh.

He also said the government has built 13,000 digital labs and 300 schools of future to create start-up ecosystem.

Sami Ahmed, Managing Director of StartUp Bangladesh, spoke about his vision and the importance of start-ups in Bangladesh's economic development.

Intellecap and Aavishkaar Group jointly organised the summit styled 'Catalysing Bangladesh's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem' to discuss, define and drive the entrepreneurial success at 12 interactive sessions.

Around 40 global and regional speakers and over 200 pioneering change-makers from the development ecosystem and impact community attended the summit.

The discussion focused on green practices in apparel manufacturing, climate resilient agriculture, renewable energy, waste-free cities, health and nutrition, gender and livelihoods.

Managing Director of Intellecap Jayesh Bhatia emphasised Intellecap's engagement with the government initiatives, and offered to bring in experiences from India to Bangladesh.

Jayesh Bhatia also referred to the work being done by Intellecap on renewable energy.

Vineet Rai, founder and chairman of Assets Under Management, Aavishkaar Group, spoke about how the group has delivered and facilitated impact unicorns in India and across the global south.
