Worker killed as electric pole falls on him

GAIBANDHA, Jan 9 (UNB): A worker of local power office was killed when an electric pole fell on him as the rickshaw van carrying it crashed down in Kalitala Bridge area of Gobindaganj upazila on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Wahab, 30, hailing from Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district.

Masud Pervez, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj highway police, said Abdul Wahab along with some workers was taking some electric poles to Gopinathpur village by a rickshaw van for setting up those in the area in the afternoon.
