SAVAR, Nov 17 (UNB): At least 50 garments workers, including a manager, were injured in a clash between workers of a factory and police at Hrishipara of Hemayetput here Monday morning.
Police said agitated garments workers of Abani Knitwear Textile Mills staged a rowdy demonstration on the Dhaka-Aricha highway and damaged more than 20 vehicles, including private cars, trucks and buses.
Local sources said the workers and factory manager Abul Bashar were locked into an altercation over poor quality food items supplied to the workers.
At one stage, the workers beat up the manager that agitated other management officials, triggering a clash at about 8:30 am.
