World Environment Day-2026 will be observed in the country, as elsewhere across the globe, today (Friday) with a view to raising awareness about environmental protection, reports BSS.
The government and various environmental and development organisations have undertaken different programmes to mark the day.
World Environment Day is the United Nations' flagship initiative for promoting awareness and action for environmental protection. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest global platforms for public outreach, observed by millions of people in more than 100 countries.
This year's theme is: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."
