WSIS Award handed over to PM

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina received on Monday the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) Award, which Bangladesh won at a summit in Geneva, reports UNB.
PM's Principal Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad handed over the award to the Prime Minister at the Cabinet Room of Sangsad Bhaban. The Project Director of A2I Programme received the award at the summit held in Geneva on May 25-26.
Receiving the award, Sheikh Hasina reiterated her pledge to build a digital Bangladesh through spreading science and technology-based education.
Extending her thanks to those working relentlessly to implement Digital Bangladesh vision, the Prime Minister dedicated the award to the country's people.
The award was given for much-talked about 'Tatha Batayan' (National Web Portal) of Bangladesh which has been developed and being operated under the Access to Information (A2I) project of the Prime Minister Office.
