WUB accords reception to Summer 2007 students

World University of Bangladesh (WUB) arranged a ceremonial freshers' reception for the Summer 2007 students at the LGED Bhaban Auditorium in the city Saturday.

The World University of Bangladesh (WUB) arranged a ceremonial freshers' reception for the Summer 2007 students at the LGED Bhaban Auditorium Saturday evening presided at by Vice Chancellor of the university Abdul Mannan Choudhury.
The Hunger Project, Bangladesh Country Director and Global Vice President Badiul Alam Majumdar was the chief guest while Additional Attorney General for Bangladesh Salahuddin Ahmed and Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University M Serajul Islam were present as special guests. Another special guest renowned ENT specialist Pran Gopal Dutta could not attend.
The chief guest eulogised the role of the world University of Bangladesh in imparting utilitarian education to the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university. He called upon the teachers and men in administration of the university to continue their whole-hearted effort to produce well-educated persons to shoulder the future responsibility of the country which he said, is full of possibilities and potentials.
In his speech the Vice-Chancellor Chowdhury said that he is a 'swapner feriwalah'. Many of his dreams have come true. And he wants to see his dream of building WUB into a centre of excellence with the collective endeavour and sacrifices of the teachers and the people looking after concerned fields in catering education for economic emancipation of the country to come true as well. He also said that his was a fast growing university with new programmes still unknown to the region but which have demand in job market.
In the evening, a colourful and entertaining cultural soiree was presented by students, guests and prominent singers of the country Bappa Majumdar and Fahmida Nabi.
