Yarn-laden truck seized in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Oct 7 (UNB) : Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and BDR in a joint drive seized a truck loaded with Bangladeshi yarn at Atpara frontier in Panchbibi Upazila here Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off a team of RAB-5 and BDR 29 battalion raided the area at about 10pm , and seized the truck loaded with 2,990 pounds yarn.
RAB estimated the value of the seized yarn and truck at around Tk 0.9 million. However, the law-enforcers could not arrest the smugglers as they fled away leaving the truck beside the road sensing their presence.
