NARSINGDI, Oct 29 (UNB): On the third day of introducing the Model thana here, mystery shrouded the death of a young man in police custody Sunday night.
Local sources said police arrested Morshed Rana (27), son of Surat Miah, from in front of his house at Shahi Protap village under Sadar Upazila Sunday and took him to Sadar thana where he died.
Later, police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Victim's brother Iqbal Hossain alleged that as per the instruction of Sadar thana Officer-in-Charge S Alam, police beat him to death.
