Youth gets life term for kidnapping college girl in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, May 6 (BSS): A Chittagong court awarded Tuesday life term rigorous imprisonment to a youth for kidnapping a college girl.

The Judge Jakir Hossain of The Women and Children Repression Preventive Tribunal-1 delivered the verdict convicting Mohammad Milton Hawlader (26), court sources said.

According to the prosecution, the convicted person forcibly kidnapped a first year student of Naobahani School and College in front of the college campus on August, 28, 2012, under Bandar thana in the port city.

Victim's mother filed a case with Bandar Thana the next day while police arrested Milton and rescued the victim after 11 days of abduction.

Later, police gave charge sheet in connection with the girl's violation on September 30 in 2012.

The court examined seven out of 13 prosecution witnesses in the trial process and held the accused responsible for the crime, sources said.

The court fined the convict Tk 50 thousand and ordered to deposit it within six months.
